Thrift Shop closed April 23

Due to illness, the Thrift Shop will be closed today, April 23, 2008. We expect to be open on Saturday as usual.

Which door?

We are located at 404 Washington Street in Brighton Center. There are three doors to the church building; which one should you use?

As you face the building, you will see a parking lot on the right side of the building. The Thrift Shop uses the door off this parking lot. There are three steps at this entrance. If this is a problem for you, please call 617-254-4046 before you come and we will be sure that the door with the ramp is unlocked.

Moving? Cleaning out a closet? Let us help.

No, we won't come help you pack, but we can provide a new home for your gently-used items.

We would be happy to receive your clean, useable, and nearly-new or vintage clothing and housewares. All children's items should also meet current safety standards. Time and space do not allow us to accept large or broken items. Small furniture items such as accent tables are fine; dining room tables or chairs are not. We just don't have the space! We also do NOT accept computers, computer parts, or any electronic items larger than a bread box. And no matter how small your electronic item, if it isn't working, please don't donate it: we're not a fix-it shop.

To donate items, please bring them to the shop when we're open—Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 to 2. Receipts for tax purposes are available; just ask.

Let's dish! Special Labor Day sale

We have lots and lots of dishes in the Thrift Shop right now--all sorts of dishes, all at low, low prices. So if you're setting up a new apartment, shop us first!

This Saturday, September 1, we'll have everything on sale. This weekend marks the resumption of regular hours: every Wednesday and Saturday, 10 to 2.

August hours

The Thrift Shop will be open on Saturday, August 11 and on Saturday, August 18. Hours are 10-2. We will be closed the rest of the month.

Regular hours resume September 1, just in time for moving in to your new apartment.

Shop closed today, July 18

Due to a family emergency, the Thrift Shop will be closed today, July 18. It will be open again on Saturday the 21st.

Vacation day

The Thrift Shop will be closed on Saturday, June 16.

Riverfest, part of the Brighton-Allston 200 celebrations, is being held that day from 10 to 6 at Herter Field, Soldiers Field Road, Brighton. The church will have a table at Riverfest; drop by to pick up a 20% off coupon good on your first Thrift Shop purchase!

Sorry about the snow day!

Mother Nature did not cooperate Saturday with our plans for a big book and rummage sale. We're sorry about that, and to help make up for any inconvenience, we'll be continuing the $2 per bag sale, and marking books and shop items WAY down. We need to make way for spring merchandise.
